IT Education for SEO
The term Information Technology or IT as it’s otherwise known in the industry came about in the 1970s that has since ballooned to encompass many aspects of computing and technology. Whether you wish to become a System Engineer or a designer of complex computing networks, more and more students are looking to break into the world of IT.
Today universities such as UTS in Sydney or Technical Colleges such as Collins College in Arizona are offering more and more choices to students wishing to start undergraduate studies in these fields. However, one area that seems to be going a miss is that of Search Engine Optimization.
Since the early 2000s, more and more websites have been seeking the services of qualified SEO Marketers to better increase their website’s traffic. The problem is this huge demand has seen a lack of qualified individuals able to offer these services. My belief is that more and more universities should start incorporating this field of study in their curriculum.
These days without high page ranking on the big search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN, it’s near impossible for a website to be found let alone profitable. Whilst there are many websites that offer online courses, I feel that these aren’t nearly as effective as those offered by professional lecturers at university. In the not to distant future you can bet your house that SEO Marketers will be in higher demand to that of the conventional IT professionals seeing a huge increase in salaries and benefits on offer to those with qualifications in SEO.
